Happy Cinqo de Mayo! I'm sure margaritas are in my future tonight!

These are the days I'm happy to be living in the Sprung. Politicians of all stripes (and questionable ethics) have been visiting my old Capitol Hill haunts (I lived there for several years).

For the past two weeks, Democrats and Republicans alike have been doing press conferences on rising gas prices at two gas stations I used to frequent and get oil changes for my car...

Patrick Kennedy (who NOW says he was messed up on prescription drugs) was seen at an old bar I used to go called Hawk & Dove Thursday night, the night of the "traffic accident"...

And just a few minutes ago, President Bush went to my old hardware store -- Frager's -- to do a press conference on the economy.

Sheesh.

Random thoughts...

My girl is making "homemade" pizza tonight. She gets dough and sauce from her favorite Italian deli in Cleveland Park called VACE. It's ONE of my favorite meals that she makes.

Everyone's all in a tizzy about Rep. Patrick Kennedy (Ted's son) getting into a "traffic accident" on Capitol Hill last night. He apparently hit a police barricade and narrowly missed a Capitol police car. The Capitol police officer on the scene says Kennedy was staggering and thinks he was drunk. The Capitol Police CHIEF then steps in, takes Kennedy home, and dismisses the incident without so much as a sobriety test. Kennedy's office put out a statement late this afternoon saying alcohol was not involved. There are now demands for a full investigation. We'll see how this plays out.

And if you're looking to kill time or need a laugh -- check out a website called Angry Alien. A website "in which a troupe of bunnies parodies a collection of movies by re-enacting them in 30 seconds, more or less." It's hilarious.
