21 June 2006

THIS is why I love covering politics. Although it's not a NATIONAL political story, it is nonetheless VERY entertaining. It's the fight in the Massachusetts state assembly over serving Flufferutter Sandwiches in schools. The story is HERE. (Fluff is made in Massachusetts, in the town of Lynn--near Boston), and is a staple in New England. One lawmaker, who is trying to highlight the epidemic of child obesity, wants the sandwiches served only once a week in school. ANOTHER lawmakers wants to block that proposal, even threatening to make the Fluffernutter sandwich the "official sandwich of Massachusetts." Good times.
