31 October 2006

Halloween was a welcome respite from election planning and rehearsals. Our neighbors brought their little girl (dressed as a kitty) over in the beginning of the evening for a quick visit, which was really nice. (We quickly discovered just how kid UN-friendly our house is. I guess we better enjoy it now!) After a slow start, we wound up with a pretty good crowd of trick-or-treaters toward mid-evening. It's a matter of great pride for the girl and I when the kids go wild over our candy selection (Pixie sticks, bottlecaps, sweet tarts, laffy taffy, and ring pops.) We want to be the "cool" house, of course, but it's also a matter of practicality: any chocolate in this house is VERY vulnerable to pre-Halloween "snacking."
