31 December 2005

So our good friends from New Orleans (I still say they are from NOLA even though they've been displaced by Hurricane Katrina and live in Dallas), told us about a website that's Friendster for Cats...called, you guessed it, Catster. It's absolutely over the top. Somehow I have a feeling Ellie will be registered on it soon. Will that make me, officially, a cat "person?" I mean, I like cats. I grew up with cats. I love my current cat. But somehow I never really considered myself a "cat person." I don't own any cat figurines. I don't own any sweaters or sweatshirts with appliques of cats playing with balls of string. My cat has never appeared donning a santa hat -- or reindeer ears -- on a Christmas card. I've never attended a cat show (despite my partner's urgings this fall when one was in our area.) But I may consider registering my cat on Catster. As a joke, of course, but still...
